About Oxford

Our Company
Oxford’s mission is to deliver real estate solutions to our clients that are innovative, cost-effective, and sustainable.  Because we know sustainable development provides our clients with a healthier and more efficient environment — to the benefit of building occupants, the environment, and the profitability of all stakeholders.

Our Story - "You Can’t Build a Great Building on a Weak Foundation" -- Gordon B. Hinckley

In 1962 Oxford Development Company opened its doors with the drive, desire, and determination to strengthen the Pittsburgh region. Oxford’s inaugural project was the largest enclosed shopping center between New York and Chicago at that time – South Hills Village.

Together, our inspiring founders Eugene Lebowitz, Edward Lewis, and Mark Mason used their passion for commercial development and their love of Pittsburgh to create strong partnerships with corporate leaders, public officials and community.  They instilled the ethic that motivates us every day - partnership, industriousness, and entrepreneurship are the keys to the region’s economic growth.

As Oxford grew as a company, so did our services.  By offering a full-service approach to retail and commercial real estate, Oxford soon expanded into varying sectors across the country including healthcare, government, hospitality, sports and entertainment, institutional, and residential.

Over the past 55 years we never forgot where we came from as we built shopping centers throughout the nation; developed the first privately owned high rise office building in Pittsburgh - One Oxford Centre; formed a public-private partnership to construct the only LEED®-Gold NHL arena in the country - CONSOL Energy Center (now PPG Paints Arena); and served as Owner’s Representative to the tallest building erected in Downtown since 1988 - 3 PNC Plaza.

In our history, we have developed over 60 million square feet of property, including over 7 million square feet of LEED® certified projects. In the past 24 months alone, Oxford has structured some of the most sustainable and innovative development projects with a cost value in excess of $200 million.

Oxford’s ability to create unique partnerships and complete complex transactions in the Pittsburgh region and beyond make us a preferred real estate partner. From conceptualization through leasing to building management, Oxford offers support throughout the life cycle of any project.
